A travelling group of actors and passing boxes of a Posada family between houses is largely impossible this year. But that doesn't mean we can't use some of the joy from it to create a 2020 Posada with a difference.
You may adapt and change this resource to suit your community, family or class but the essence is:
Create your personal 'Holy Family'. You may do this before you start or build your Posada as you go. There are ideas within this resource to do this.
Send out the Posada - Where will it be? When will we use it? How will we set aside time?
Daily Posada -Bible story, reflection question and activity for each day.
Respond to the Posada - Share photos or stories (use social media safely). Create a special hashtag or share ours to join a bigger community #growingfaithposada or tweet us @Coventry-Faith
Share your Posada
Take some photographs with your Holy Family figures to share with your local church and please share with us so we can see what you are all up to.

In our context
Church - If you are running for a school you can create your own personalised videos. You could adapt the resources for each day for collective worship to be used in the context you know. You could provide videos, ideas and perhaps get people from your church family involved (this will have to be through videos) for each day. Make sure you talk to your school about the idea and whether they would appreciate it and how it would work best for them. It may be short videos for the majority and then a few that are slightly longer and include more conversation or activity time in response.
If you doing it for local families, you could personalise the videos etc as above, you might post out the resources, share this link or use social media to involve families but also the wider church. This is designed for families but is relevant and engaging for people of all ages. How can you encourage the different households to have a sense of togetherness? You could ask them to share photos, thoughts etc through email to you for the newsletter, short videos for services or social media.
School - The Posada lasts for 9 days, you might want make it a daily slot for 2 weeks or spread it out over December. You could do the story and questions on some of the days for shorter slots and pick a few key ones to include the activity (or your own activity on the message)
You could ask classes to respond with snippets of video, written thoughts or things they have made. These could be brought together and shared on the last day of term as part of a collective worship where all years are included even if they cannot physically be together.
Family - You may start on the 16th December and follow the tradition or you may start sooner and do it every other day. Think about when you will do this each day, is there a set time you can sit together and do it? Think about how it will work best for your household.
It is worth looking through the activities etc in advance and gathering resources. You could find a box to put everything you need in it. Then you can sit together and take the box out so you can find the things you need easily. You could print out the card pack and add that to the box to make it screen free.
