Youth

We know that finding material and ideas for different ages is tricky. But we also know many families are balancing a variety of ages and themselves at home right now.

We want families to be able to engage and grow together, so we didn't want to add different plans for each different ages. What we have done as we created this is considered how young people need to be treated as people who can think and have opinions of themselves and as people who will enjoy different physical activities too. For some that will be following the community trail (you can do it at home if there isn't one locally) and focussing on discussion and learning together, for others it will be using the At home resource and picking out the important bits for you as a family.

Community trail

The community trail is 15 images to help us picture and think about Jesus' journey to the cross. Each image has a QR code that leads you to a Bible passage, reflection questions and short thought.

The questions are written for households, or friends to engage with together.
  • So if there is a community trail nearby you could follow that as a family and explore and discuss together. This is a real opportunity for young people to know their ideas and opinions have value and are part of a conversation.
  • If there is no community trail, you can still download the images and QR codes and use them as a family. You can print them out or view them on your computer. You could to one a day in the lead up to Easter day. Choose the questions that are most helpful to you (perhaps take in turns to choose the question or questions for that day). You might want to have a quick look at the 'At home' resource for some creative ideas to go alongside.
  • If you are leading a youth group or series, then you could download the images and use these physically or over Zoom. You know the members best so you can pull out the bits that are most interesting or relevant for your context. You might want to have a quick look at the 'At home' resource for some creative ideas to go alongside.

At home

These sessions are designed to be led by a household together or by a church as part of a small group (probably online or by sending materials home)

Click here for the Youth session download.

The sessions follow the same topics and parts of the story. There is overlap in the questions and response ideas (It includes the cooking and outside ideas). There are additional questions to each, an alternative song and creative ideas to respond.
