The Growing Faith Adventure is a call for the renewal of hearts and minds so that it becomes second nature to include and value children, young people and households in every aspect of church life for the lifelong formation of faith in the whole of life.
We want to see churches, schools and homes working together to help children (and families) to grow in faith. So instead of three separate spaces there is overlap and working together to support children to explore and develop their own faith. We see these children as leaders and pilgrims who can learn, lead and teach if we listen and provide the opportunities.
Our key principles are to encourage:
Connected Communities - looking for the meaningful connected community of faith in the intersection between church, school and households
Spiritual Encounters - engaging in conversations about and expressing faith as people encounter God as individuals and together
Imaginative Practices -searching for 'a new way of being church' and creating new thinking and new doing in relation to children, young people and households.
As part of this we have written a few resources with the aim that they can be adapted and used across schools, churches and within the home. Schools, churches and homes can work together to use them across the areas or in a specific sphere.
Each of the resources so far has been written with social distancing and different rules around meeting in mind. So they can all be used within groups, online or in various offline ways.
Each resource has ideas and support specific to churches, schools and homes to help you tailor it to your children and environment.
